STATESBORO, Ga. (Oct. 15, 2000) -- The Georgia Southern Eagles picked up their 13th victory with a 4-1 defeat of East Tennessee State 4-1 at Eagle Field on Senior Day.

Georgia Southern's Andrea Pfeiffer got the Eagles (13-3, 5-2) on the scoreboard just 2:56 into the game when she beat Buccaneer goalkeeper Heather Sanden to give GS a 1-0 advantage.

Sophomore Amanda Bernard then tallied the next two goals, the first on a rebound off the post at the 26:34 mark and the second on an assist from freshman Genevieve Ward just 6:13 into the second half.

Freshman Mary-Kate Talbott capped the Eagle scoring when her free kick from nearly 30 yards out got past Sanden for a 4-0 GS lead at the 59:18 mark. ETSU's Lisa Gallagher helped the Bucs (6-9, 0-7) avoid the shutout when she tallied with just 8:18 remaining in the game.

Freshman keeper Tanya Woehr and Bales, who earned the start but suffered a knee injury in the second half, shared the shutout for the Eagles. GS closes out the regular season next weekend, traveling to Cullowhee, N.C. to take on Western Carolina Friday at 4:00 p.m. before meeting Chattanooga Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
