Johnson City, Tenn. -- East Tennessee State University women's soccer head coach Heather Puckett has been named the head coach for the Tennessee Women's Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) Under-14 B Team.

The Tennessee ODP, which identifies and develops state soccer players for the regional team and builds future aspirations for the U.S. National Team, will hold its tryouts on December 11-12 in Nashville, Tenn. Puckett's team will compete in its first tournament at a Sub-Regional Event in North Carolina on January 29-30, 2000.

I am very excited to help develop the soccer talent in Tennessee, Puckett said. This program identifies talented players and helps train them for the collegiate game.

Puckett served as a head coach in the North Carolina Olympic Development Program from 1996-99. ETSU freshman Jana Thomas (Waynesville, N.C.) played for Puckett on the N.C. ODP team.
