FORT MYERS, Fla. (Oct. 22, 2009) - After spliting a pair of Atlantic Sun Conference matches last weekend, the ETSU women's soccer team opens its final two league contests of the regular season with a 7:00 p.m., match Friday at Florida Gulf Coast.

The Bucs (5-11-0, 4-4-0 A-Sun) enter the contest after upsetting league-leading Kennesaw State 1-0 Sunday on senior day. Overall, ETSU - who sits with 12 points - is currently in seventh in the A-Sun standings, one point behind Mercer, who at the moment holds the final spot in the six-team A-Sun Tournament.

The Bears final match of the season takes place Thursday night as Mercer host Campbell.

Individually, senior forward Jordan Monty (Mesquite, Texas), leads the Buc attack after earning her third career A-Sun Offensive Player of the Week honor, Tuesday. Last week the ETSU captain posted two goals and three assists for seven points, as the Bucs picked up wins against the Owls and USC Upstate.

On the other side of the ball sophomore keeper Megan Masch (Virginia Beach, Va.), has been stellar in net, as the second-year stater leads the league with 115 saves. Overall, Masch sits second in the league in save percentage and saves per match. Nationally, Masch ranks 75th out of 307 Division I keepers with a .826 save percentage.

Florida Gulf Coast (9-5-3, 4-4-0 A-Sun) enters the contest after spliting two A-Sun matches last week in Nashville. The Eagles fell at Belmont 2-0 Friday night, before defeating Lipscomb 2-1, Sunday.

Individually, keeper Stephanie Powers leads FGCU's defense as the sophomore currently leads the A-Sun in goals against average (0.78) and shutouts (6). Offensivley, senior Amber McCall leads the Eagles in points (14), goals (6), shots on goal (20) and game winners (3).

Overall, ETSU lead the all-time series with Florida Gulf Coast 2-0-0. In their last meeting the Bucs soared past the Eagles with a 2-1 double overtime win last October. In that match, Monty took a crossing pass from teammate junior foward Terri Miller (Cape Coral, Fla), for the game-winning goal in the 103rd minute.
