(November 3, 2002) - Stefani Workman and Tracy Tenholder combined for two goals and two assists to lead Morehead State over the East Tennessee State women's soccer team 3-1 Sunday afternoon. Morehead State (2-12-1) scored the first two goals of the game with the first coming in the first period at the 41 minute mark as a Casey Mowery cross found Workman for the finish. Four minutes into the second period the Eagles scored again as Christina Moore received a pass from Tenholder and fired the ball from outside the box to put Morehead State up 2-0. ETSU (5-8-1) only goal of the day was scored at the 54:30 mark as freshman Erin Ashton (New Bern, N.C.) scored off of a Kerri Burke (Raleigh, N.C.) assist. Morehead State scored their final goal of the day as Tenholder scored off a pass from Workman to deny the Buccaneer comeback. "We didn't take care of the details and stick to our game plan, I could see their thoughts drifting to the tournament." said ETSU head coach Heather Henson. "We need to turn it around for Thursday's game and focus for 90 minutes." ETSU out shot Morehead State 21-13 for the game. Buccaneer keeper Heather Sanden (Manassas, Va.) had five saves on the day; Morehead State keeper Sarah Clark had eight. The game marked the final home game of the season for the Buccaneers and for seniors Lena Summers (Johnson City, Tenn.) and Elizabeth Smith (Arden, N.C.). ETSU travels to Greensboro, N.C. Wednesday for the 2002 Southern Conference Tournament. The Buccaneers will take on the number one seeded Furman Paladins on Thursday at 5:00. ETSU lost 2-1 to the Paladins earlier this season.
