GREENEVILLE, S.C. (Oct. 6, 2006) - Freshman Sinead O'Sullivan (Galway, Ireland) fired a team-best, 2-over-par 74 to tie for fourth place and lead the ETSU women's golf team to a third-place standing following first round play in the Lady Paladin Invitational Friday at the Furman University Golf Course.
Northwestern currently leads the team event by two strokes over second place Augusta State, and the Wildcats lead by four strokes over the Buccaneers. ETSU ended the day with a team score of 306 and is currently one stroke ahead of fourth place South Florida. Individually, Coastal Carolina's Araceli Felgueroso and Northwestern's Alice Kim are atop the leaderboard after firing 2-under rounds of 70, while UNCW's Carmen Perez is currently third at 1-under 71, with O'Sullivan and three others tied for fourth.
Other scores of note for ETSU included a pair of 76s from sophomore Lucy Gould (Bargoed, Wales) and freshman Sarah Jane Sinard (White Pine). Both Gould and Sinard are tied for 12th.
