AUGUSTA, Ga. (Nov. 8, 2005) - Senior Ashley Barton (Seffner, Fla.) was the top ETSU women's golf finisher, placing tied for sixth and helping the Lady Bucs to a strong third-place team finish Tuesday in the America's Choice Mortgage Lady Jaguar Invitational hosted by Augusta State at the Forest Hills Golf Club.

Barton fired a 74 on the final day of play, finishing eight strokes back of individual champion Lauren Smith from Augusta State. Smith outlasted Notre Dame's Noriko Nakazaki by one stroke for the title. On the team leaderboard, ASU made it a sweep with a commanding 16-stroke win over second-place Notre Dame.

Along with Barton, sophomore Natalia Giraldo (Cali, Colombia) finished tied for 12^th, while freshman Lucy Gould (Bargoed, Wales) enjoyed her best-ever collegiate finish with a tie for 16^th. Sophomore Maria Ringdahl (Oland, Sweden) also placed tied for 16^th.
