BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. (March 12, 2006) - Sophomore Natalia Giraldo (Cali, Colombia) finished with a team-best score of 226 and finished tied for 17^th after final round play Sunday in the Lady Gamecock Classic hosted by the University of South Carolina at the University Club. Meanwhile, Giraldo and the rest of the Lady Bucs were unable to improve on their team standing, finishing tied for 10^th.

Maria Martinez of Auburn captured the individual medalist honors with a five-stroke win over Florida State's Caroline Westrup, while Auburn made it a clean sweep with an impressive 18-stroke edge over second place Tennessee in the team competition.

Along with Giraldo, other Lady Buc results included 32^nd-place finishes by sophomore Maria Ringdahl (Oland, Sweden) and senior Ashley Barton (Seffner, Fla.), while senior Laura Diaz (Aguadilla, P.R.) finished 55^th and freshman Lucy Gould (Bargoed, Wales) ended the event in 56^th.
