Lady Bucs still in second place after two rounds at the Unlimited Potential Bay Tree Classic
Tuesday, September 28, 2004 MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (September 25, 2004) - East Tennessee State freshman golfer Natalia Giraldo (Cali, Columbia) posted an even-par 72 and junior Ashley Barton (Seffner, Fla.) collected her second-straight 1-over 73, as the two women players finished tied for third on the individual leaderboard after two rounds of play in the Unlimited Potential Bay Tree Classic Saturday at the Bay Tree Golf Plantation. The efforts of Giraldo and Barton helped power the ETSU women's golf team to a current second-place standing in the tournament, just five strokes behind first-place Coastal Carolina heading into Sunday's final round of play. Coastal Carolina posted a tournament record 293 on Saturday to jump from fourth to first. On the individual leaderboard, Giraldo (74-72=146 +2) and Barton (73-73=146 +2) are seven strokes behind UNC Wilmington's Michelle Jarman (70-69=139 -5). Along with Giraldo and Barton, ETSU freshmen Cindy Phillips (Johnson City, Tenn.) and Maria Ringdahl (Kalmar, Sweden) are currently tied for 26th and 40th, respectively, and senior Danielle O'Reilly (Whistler, British Columbia) is tied for 47th. The Lady Bucs will continue with third and final round play on Sunday. For complete results, visit cofcsports.com.
