MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (Sept. 6, 2003) - For day one of the Unlimited Potential/Bay Tree Classic, weather did not play a major role in the tournament. On day two, stormy and rainy conditions were the major players in the field and play on the course was cancelled for the day. The final round will take place on Sunday morning weather permitting.
Eighteen teams teed off this morning under a light rain, but the rain grew in intensity as the round progressed. With most teams on their 8th hole of the day, play was suspended for the day due to the heavy rain.
The decision to postpone the tournament until tomorrow was made at an 11:30 coaches meeting. Heading into tomorrow's final round Coastal Carolina leads the tournament with a team score of 296 which is ten shots clear of James Madison and Middle Tennessee State.
The East Tennessee State University women's golf team finds itself currently 15th among a 36-team field and will play in the championship flight on Sunday.
