ETSU women's golf finishes ninth at Hatter Spring Fling
Wednesday, March 26, 2003 DELAND, FLA. (March 25, 2003) - Posting a team score of 333 during second round play of the Hatter Spring Fling at the Victoria Hills Golf Course in DeLand, Fla., the East Tennessee State University women's golf team placed ninth in the 15-team field.The Bucs were led by Kristen Fletcher's (Cookeville) 20-over-par effort (80-84=164), which placed her in a tie for 21st. Meanwhile, teammate Danielle O'Reilly (Vancouver, British Columbia) finished tied for 29th (85-81=166 +22), Kailey Brooks (Bracebridge, Ontario) placed in a tie for 34th (82-85=167 +23), Alysa Few (London, Ontario) finished tied for 50th (85-86=171 +27), and Laura Diaz (Aguadilla, Puerto Rico) was tied for 75th (100-83=183 +39). Florida Atlantic ran away with the team championship thanks to a 17-stroke advantage over second-place Maryland. Meanwhile, Florida Atlantic completed a sweep of both leaderboards when Ann Fraser brought home the individual championship with an 8-over score of 152, beating out a quartet of players that finished at 10-over-par. The Lady Bucs will be in action once again April 7-8 at the Lady Eagle Invitational in Hattiesburg, Miss. Hatter Spring Fling
