(Feb. 6, 2002) - Senior Mimmie Dymling (Sollentuna, Sweden) had a career-best second-place finish, leading the East Tennessee State women's golf team to fifth place in the Florida International Championship from Miami, Fla. The Buccaneer women's golfers finished fifth (326-312-318=956) out of ten teams, continuing the momentum that the team had established after a great Fall season. Dymling played consistent golf in both days of the tournament, shooting matching 74's in the final two rounds after shooting a first-round 79. The senior was tied for the lead at the end of the final round, before falling in a playoff. Her previous best finish was third place in the Georgia State Lady Panther Intercollegiate on Oct. 29-30, 2001. "This is a great start to the Spring for our team," said ETSU second-year head coach Katie Weiss. "Mimmie (Dymling) played very well in this tournament and we will look to her for leadership this season." The Bucs will return to action on Mar. 11-12 from the East Carolina Spring Intercollegiate from Greenville, N.C.
