Men Place Third, Women Eighth at Southern Conference Cross Country Championships

DAVIDSON, N.C. (November 1, 2003) - The ETSU cross country teams faced off against Southern Conference opponents, with the men finishing third in the 8K and the women eighth in the 5K hosted by Davidson College. Senior Bradley Yewer (Newbury, England) led the Buccaneer squad placing second only to Chattanooga's Steven Kocsis. Yewer finished with a time of 25:35. Those who also showed strong finishes for the Bucs were James Grufferty (Glanmire, Ireland) and Joshua Hicks (Riceville, Tenn.). The women's team had a tough outing. Senior Emily Chaney (Maryville, Tenn.) had a tough outing but finished first for ETSU with a time of 20:15. Junior Jennifer Habbestad ran well for the Bucs and finished with a time of 20: 23. Tatiana Arriaran (Cochabamba, Bolivia) also helped the team and made a strong first appearance on the cross country squad with her time of 21:27. Race Results ETSU Men 2. Bradley Yewer 25:35.32 12.
