STARKVILLE, Miss. (Nov. 14, 2009) - The first leg of ETSU's four-game road swing makes a stop in Starkville for a showdown with SEC contender Mississippi State on Sunday afternoon. Tip is scheduled for 3 p.m. (Eastern) inside Humphrey Coliseum.

The Lady Bucs, who begin a stretch of playing 10 of their next 12 games on the road, will cover over 11,000 miles (roundtrip) during this four-game span.

ETSU is coming off a 24-point win over Chattanooga in its season opener on Friday night, where senior TaRonda Wiles (Danville, Va.) and sophomore Gwen Washington (Manassas, Va.) paced the Lady Bucs to their first season-opening win since knocking off Mississippi State in 2005-06. Wiles finished 9-of-12 from the field (4-for-4 from beyond the arc) en route to posting a game-high 24 points. Meanwhile, Washington notched her third career double-double after recording 16 points and 10 rebounds in 32 minutes of work.

Mississippi State is coming off a 58-point win (106-48) over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Friday in its season opener. Five Lady Bulldog players scored in double figures, with Tysheka Grimes leading the way with 22 points and 12 rebounds. The Lady Bulldogs out-rebounded the visitors from Arkansas by 28 - 71 to 43 - and forced them into 27 turnovers.

The Lady Bulldogs return four starters and 11 letterwinners from last year's squad, who went to the second round of the NCAA Tournament a year ago. Mississippi State was tabbed third by the SEC coaches and fifth by the media.

Sunday marks the third meeting between these two programs, as the series is tied at one apiece. The Lady Bucs won the last contest, 78-53, back on Nov. 20, 2005 in Starkville. The Lady Bulldogs took the first-ever meeting back on Dec. 30, 2004, when Mississippi State won by 10 (74-64) in Johnson City.

Fans unable to make the trip can catch all the action live by visiting http://www.mstateathletics.com/.  Lady Buccaneer faithful in the Tri-Cities can tune into WKPT, as "Voice of the Lady Bucs" Don Helman will be courtside handling play-by-play duties. Fans in Johnson City should tune into AM-1590, Kingsport is AM-1400 and Bristol is AM-1490.
