JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 25, 2008) - The Mountain States Health Alliance Buccaneer Sports Network and Holston Valley Broadcasting Corporation have once again teamed up to air a handful of ETSU women's basketball games this 2008-09 season, with the first broadcast beginning this Wednesday night when the Lady Bucs host Appalachian State. Tip is set for 7 p.m.

 

Don Helman enters his sixth season as the "Voice of the Lady Bucs", and will be calling all the action on WKPT-AM 1590 in Johnson City, WKPT-AM 1400 in Kingsport and WKPT-AM 1490 in Bristol. Additionally, WKPT's FM translators in Johnson City (97.7), Kingsport (94.3), and Bristol (97.9) will also air Lady Buccaneer games.

 

The Lady Buccaneers will have nine regular season games aired on the Holston Valley Broadcasting flagship stations. The games to be carried include - Appalachian State (Nov. 25), at Kentucky (Dec. 12), at Wake Forest (Dec. 28), Lipscomb (Jan. 17), Campbell (Jan. 22), at Jacksonville (Jan. 29), North Florida (Jan. 31), at Lipscomb (Feb. 13) and at Belmont (Feb. 15). In addition, every ETSU game from the Atlantic Sun Tournament in Nashville will be carried as well.

 

"We are very excited to expand our coverage with WKPT and build off last year's partnership, which helped give our fans the opportunity to follow the Lady Bucs as they made a run into the NCAA Tournament," added ETSU Network Director Jay Sandos. "We are always looking for better ways to expand our network with women's basketball, and WKPT's partnership has given us the opportunity to do just that."

 

Fans can also tune in a half hour before the game to catch all the analysis on the Pregame Show presented by Atmos Energy, and don't forget to catch the half hour General Shale Brick Postgame Show following the conclusion of each game.
