LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 11, 2008) - Dropping the first two games of its season-long five-game road trip isn't the way head coach Karen Kemp and the ETSU women's basketball team envisioned starting a critical stretch.

On Friday night - inside Memorial Coliseum - the Lady Bucs look to turn the corner and pick up their first road win of the season and end a two-game skid, when ETSU (1-5, 0-1 A-Sun) faces SEC contender Kentucky at 7 p.m.

The Lady Bucs are coming off a disappointing 77-61 defeat at Mercer last Friday. In that game, ETSU turned the ball over 27 times and were whistled for 27 fouls, both marking season highs. Mercer capitalized on the miscues by scoring 31 points off the turnovers and hitting 23 of its 33 foul shots. Junior TaRonda Wiles (Danville, Va.) led the team with a game-high 22 points, while freshman Gwen Washington (Manassas, Va.) pitched in with 11 points and eight rebounds off the bench.

Kentucky (5-3) is coming off a 74-35 victory over Furman on Dec. 6, marking its largest margin of victory in the coach Mitchell era. The Wildcats are led by 6-1 sophomore forward Victoria Dunlap's 12.1 points and 7.6 rebounds per contest. In addition, junior guard Amani Franklin has led Kentucky in scoring the last three games and is averaging 10.8 points per game.

Fans unable to make the trip to Lexington can watch the game on FSN South, as Garry Gupton will provide the play-by-play and Christi Thomas will be handling the color duties. In Johnson City FSN South is channel 43 for Comcast customers and channel 29 for Charter members. Lady Buccaneer fans can also turn down the volume on the television and turn up the sound on their radio as "Voice of the Lady Bucs" Don Helman will be courtside calling the play-by-play on WKPT-AM 1590 in Johnson City, WKPT-AM 1400 in Kingsport and WKPT-AM 1490 in Bristol. Additionally, WKPT's FM translators in Johnson City (97.7), Kingsport (94.3), and Bristol (97.9) will also air Lady Buccaneer games.
