LYNCHBURG, Va. (Jan. 12, 2009) - Playing its third road game in a six day span, the ETSU women's basketball team looks to make it a perfect 3-0 stretch when they take the floor Tuesday night at Liberty. Game time is set for 7 p.m. inside the Vines Center.

The Lady Bucs, who picked up a pair of critical conference road wins this past weekend at Florida Gulf Coast and Stetson, look to keep their season-long four-game winning streak alive in the final non-conference game of the year. During this stretch, ETSU has been able to move past the .500 plateau (7-6) for the first time all season and have been winning in many different ways.

ETSU began the stretch by posting a season-high 86 points over Jacksonville back on Jan. 3 and won at Stetson despite scoring a season-low 53 points on Saturday night. The Lady Bucs have also picked up wins over North Florida (56-42) and at Florida Gulf Coast (75-67). Lady Buccaneer defense has been key over the last four games, as they are holding their opponents to 59.5 points per game and forcing 21.5 turnovers per contest. In addition, unselfish play has been ETSU's motto, as they are posting 15.8 assists per game.

Junior Latisha Belcher (Martinsville, Va.) has been the catalyst in this stretch run - averaging a team-best 15.5 points per game. Also, Belcher is posting seven rebounds and hitting a blistering 65.8 percent of her shots (25-38).

Liberty and the Lady Bucs faced off last season, with the Lady Flames coming out on top, 64-60, back on Jan. 8 inside Memorial Center. Siarre Evans (Griffin, Ga.) scored a team-high 13 points off the bench for ETSU, but the Flames closed out the final two minutes on a 7-2 run to rally past the Lady Bucs.

Like the Lady Bucs, Liberty (7-7) got off to a slow start but has managed to find some rhythm by winning its last four games as well. Liberty has faced some adversity with injuries this season - including the loss of the Big South Preseason Player of the Year Megan Frazee for an eight-game stretch. However, with Frazee back in the lineup, the Lady Flames have been able to rattle off four straight wins. Frazee - who has only played in six games so far - is averaging 21.3 points and 9.2 rebounds. Meanwhile, Megan's sister Moriah, has also been playing well by posting 10.5 points and 4.9 boards in 14 games.

ETSU leads the all-time series, 7-4, but the Flames have won the last two meetings. The Lady Bucs' last win in the series came on Jan. 6, 1999, when ETSU downed Liberty, 80-69, in Johnson City.
