Lady Bucs picked to finish first by media; second in coaches poll

(Oct. 9, 2007) - With exactly one month left until the start of the ETSU women's basketball season, the Atlantic Sun Conference announced its preseason polls Tuesday, and the Lady Buccaneers have a lot to be smiling about. Head coach Karen Kemp's squad was picked to finish first by the media and second by the conference coaches. Both ETSU and The Lady Bucs return nine players along with 82.4 percent of their scoring and 88.5 percent rebounding from last years' squad which beat The coaches picked the Dolphins to win the league, receiving seven first-place votes and 138 total points; while the Lady Bucs bagged four first-place selections and 133 points. Belmont, last season's regular season and tournament champion, was picked third (124 points) and received one first-place vote.
