JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (February 11, 2006) - The Lady Bucs drained a school-record 15 three pointers, shooting a scorching 75.0 percent from behind the arc, to down North Florida, 82-52, Saturday afternoon in Memorial Center.  B.J. Banjo (Baltimore, Md.) led a balanced ETSU offensive attack, scoring 16 points, 15 of which came from three-point range.

ETSU ups its record to 14-7, 10-4 in the Atlantic Sun with the win, while UNF drops to 9-13, 7-7 in league play.

Michele DeVault (Columbus, Ohio), Holly Moring (Irmo, S.C.), and Brooke Wilhoit (Sevierville, Tenn.) were also hot from long range with DeVault and Moring scoring 15 apiece, and Wilhoit chipping in with 12.  Moring had a career day, nailing a career-best five treys.

The Lady Bucs proved it was going to be a good day early on, hitting seven threes just before the halfway mark of the first half.  ETSU went on to can 10 threes in the first period alone, shooting a sizzling 76.9 percent to lead 42-26 at the half.

The hot-shooting Lady Bucs cooled off early in the second half however, netting only three points for nearly four minutes, allowing North Florida to cut the lead to 10.

The Lady Bucs then extended their lead to 16 at the 11:20 mark on a three pointer from Banjo and never looked back.

Andrea Dill led the Lady Osprey's with 11 points, followed by C.C. Woolfolk with eight. Antoinette Reames led the Lady Ospreys with seven boards, while Dill added six. Kelly Turman (Atlanta, Ga.) and Jenny Norman (Peachtree City, Ga.) led ETSU with six rebounds apiece.

The Osprey's were only able to manage a 33.9 percent performance from the field on the day, while the Lady Bucs posted a 50.0 percent effort.  The Lady Bucs were also hot from the charity stripe, yielding 72.2 percent on 13-for-18 shooting.\

 

The Lady Bucs will head to Nashville next week for games against Lipscomb on Feb. 16 at 7 p.m., and Belmont on Feb. 18 at 7 p.m.
