STATESBORO, GA. (Feb. 26, 2005) - A strong second half rally by the Georgia Southern Eagles led to a 85-82 season finale loss for the Lady Bucs from Statesboro today.  With the loss, ETSU falls to 11-16 overall for the 2004-05 season and 9-11 in Southern Conference action.  GSU improves to 14-13 and 11-9 in SoCon play.  Tiffani Mayes  (Sumter, S.C.) led all scorers with 26 points on the afternoon, including a 9-18 shooting effort from the floor.

ETSU started strong with a dominate first half taking the 36-22 halftime lead.  However the offense of the Eagles took control from the start of the second half and proved too strong for the Lady Bucs offense.

B.J. Banjo (Baltimore, Md.) added 23 points, four rebounds and two steals in the loss, while Candace Gibson (Warner Robins, Ga.) added 17 points and led ETSU with nine rebounds for the afternoon.

The Lady Bucs travel to Chattanooga for the Southern Conference championship tournament March 2-5, visit ETSUBucs.com for updates.
