DAVIDSON, N.C. - The Davidson Wildcats had its three-game losing streak snapped tonight with an 80-69 loss to Southern Conference rival East Tennessee State in women's basketball action at Belk Arena.

East Tennessee State (1-5, 0-1) was led by Chris Forman who scored a career-high 32 points on 12 of-21 shooting including eight three-point baskets. Davidson (4-3, 0-2) got 25 points from junior guard Janna Magette (Birmingham, Ala.) in the loss.

The Lady Bucs got out to an early 14-7 lead by controlling the offensive boards and taking advantage of open jump shots. A three-point field goal from Forman with 6:26 on the clock. pushed ETSU up a first-half best 12 points, 27-15.Davidson made a mini-run as the first half came to a close as senior Kim Taylor and Magette scored five points in the final 17 seconds of the half to make the score 35-32 at the break.

Magette lead all scorers with 15 points in the first 20 minutes of action.Unfortunately for the Wildcats, the momentum from the closing seconds did not carry into the opening of the second half and the Lady Bucs rattled off a quick 9-2 run over and pushed the lead back to 10 points, 44-34.A Davidson timeout seemed to revive the team and the Wildcats sliced the lead in half with just under 13 minutes left to play.

Unfortunately for the 'Cats, the revival was short lived and ETSU began to slowly add points to the lead. A three-point basket from Robyn Flewelling with 7:52 left to play once again pulled the Wildcats within striking distance at 56-52, but the Lady Bucs would not relinquish the lead.Over the final six minutes of play Davidson got the Lady Bucs lead under 10 points only once as a Magette three cut the lead to eight, 65-57.

ETSU's Forman followed that three pointer with three three pointers of her own and pushed the lead to 17 points, the largest margin of the evening.Even though Davidson held the edge in free throws for the evening, ETSU made 13 three pointers on the night compared to just six by the Wildcats which proved to be a large factor in the downfall of the Wildcats.

In addition to a career night from Forman, ETSU got 11 points on the night from both Erin Thurman and Megan Jackson. Davidson freshman Meghan Bryant recorded her fifth straight double digit performance of the season with 13 points. She also contributed five blocks.
