Fickes Reaches 1,000 Career-Point Mark

Johnson City, Tenn. - Senior Angie Fickes (Bluff City, Tenn.) reached the 1,000 career -point mark with her 13-point effort in the Lady Bucs' 73-59 win against Wofford on Feb. 6.

Fickes has now scored 1,000 points in 101 career games. The point guard also ranks second on ETSU's All-Time assist list with 384 assists. After 19 games this season, Fickes ranks third on the team in scoring (8.7 points/game) and leads the team with 70 assists (3.7/game).

Fickes is the 11th player in ETSU women's basketball history to accomplish the feat. The last player to reach 1,000 points was Amy Engle who finished her ETSU career in 1996 with 1,058 points. ETSU's All-Time scoring leader is Marsha Cowart (1980-83) who finished her Lady Buc career with 2,239 points.

"Angie (Fickes) has been an outstanding player since day one" head coach Karen Kemp said. "Had we not had such a balanced team throughout her four years, she would have reached this plateau many games ago. She understands her role on this team and that scoring is not a priority for her. We are very proud of Angie joining such an elite group of ETSU players."

The Lady Bucs are 9-10 this season, 7-5 in the Southern Conference.
