ETSU volleyball has tough day at Marshall Tournament

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 6, 2008) - The ETSU volleyball team dropped two games on Saturday at the Marshall tournament in Huntington, W. Va., falling to host Marshall and Virginia Tech. The Bucs fell to the Herd in the first game, 3-1 (19-25, 13-25, 25-19, 19-25), and closed out the tournament in a three set loss to Virginia Tech, 3-0 (20-25, 14-25, 12-25).

 

The Bucs (2-4) offensively were led by McKayla Barber (Columbus, Ind.) and Lauren Baufield (Plymouth, Minn.) as Barber had ten kills on the day, while Baufield had nine kills.

 

Amanda Youell (Middleburg, Fla.) had seven kills, 24 assists, 16 digs and four blocks on the day.

Freshman Jen Neice (Allen, Texas) also had 16 digs on the day.
