BLACKSBURG, Va. (April 5, 2010) - The ETSU softball team kicks off a six-game road swing Tuesday evening as the Lady Bucs head over to Virginia Tech and face the Hokies in a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch of game one is set for 5 p.m. at Tech Softball Park.

The Lady Bucs have won five of their last eight games and carry a record of 14-22 into the series with the Hokies.

ETSU picked up sweeps over Appalachian State and Stetson this past week; however, Florida Gulf Coast capped off the weekend with a sweep over the Lady Bucs in Johnson City. Senior Cheniece Cason (Moreno Valley, Calif.) led the Lady Bucs at the plate in the six games - going 10-for-25. Joining Cason was junior catcher/infielder Katie Henderson (Jackson, Tenn.) as she hit her first two home runs of the season and posted five RBI and five runs scored. Meanwhile, in the circle, senior Darci Gilbert (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) went 2-1 with a 0.98 ERA (2 ER/14.1 IP) in four appearances (two starts).

The Hokies enter play losing six straight and sit 13-23 overall.

Virginia Tech is led by senior outfielder Whitney Davis as she leads the team with a .321 average, while fellow Hokie outfielder Richelle McGarva posts a team-leading nine doubles and 20 RBI in 36 games.
