Lady Bucs softball falls to Ohio in final day at Winthrop Ringor Invitational

ROCK HILL, S.C. (March 13, 2005) - In the final day of competition at the Winthrop Ringor Invitational Tournament in Rock Hill, S.C., the ETSU softball squad fell 3-1 to Ohio University today.  With the loss, the Bucs fall to 8-13 thus far in 2004-05.

 

In the loss to OU this morning, ETSU was led by centerfield Danielle Spetar (Knoxville, Tenn.) who went 2-3 and captured the lone RBI on the afternoon after sending Mary Beth Hazelwood (Knoxville, Tenn.) home in the bottom of the sixth inning.  Belinda Barrera (Fayeteville, N.C.) pitched the complete game allowing eight hits and just two earned runs in the loss.

 

ETSU continues action this weekend when they travel to Blacksburg, Va. to participate in the Virginia Tech Tournament.  The Lady Bucs will face North Dakota State and host Virginia Tech on March 18 at 12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. respectively.
