JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 4, 2013) – A face-off between the top two scoring offenses in the Atlantic Sun did not disappoint Friday night, however, ETSU fell just short, 3-2, following a late Mercer rally.

Holding a narrow 2-1 advantage with less than 13 minutes remaining, ETSU was unable to hold off Mercer’s 28th-ranked offensive attack.

The Bears (7-5-1) recorded a pair of goals in the final 12:19 of the match to win their fifth match in seven tries.

Sophomore Sarah Zadrazil (St. Gilgen, Austria) accounted for both ETSU goals, scoring in the 32nd and 66th minutes, respectively. The reigning Atlantic Sun Freshman of the Year leads the Bucs (5-5-1) with six goals on the season.

Mercer outshot ETSU, 26-15, on the night, however freshman goalkeeper Jasmine Elliott (Preston, England) recorded six saves for the Bucs, including three stops within a 2:15 span near the 23-minute mark.
