ATHENS, Ga. (Sept. 15, 2013) – Continuing a successful weekend of play, both ETSU doubles teams advanced to the Division I doubles flight semifinals of the Southern Intercollegiate Championships. ETSU represents two of the four doubles teams remaining in the flight.

The doubles duo of David Biosca and Roger Ordeig outlasted a tough Clemson team Sunday to win its quarterfinal match.

“Biosca and Ordeig played a flawless match from start to finish,” ETSU head coach Yaser Zaatini said.

Diego Nunez and Rogerio Ribeiro advanced to the semifinals by walk-over.

Biosca and Ordeig will take on a Hernus Pieters and Ben Wagland of Georgia, while Nunez and Ribeiro will face Vanderbilt’s Gonzales Austin and Ryan Lipman.

“Having two teams compete on the final day of a championship flight competition is a major accomplishment for the Bucs,” ETSU head coach Yaser Zaatini said.

Individually, Nunez and Ribeiro advanced to the quarterfinals of the Division II and Division I singles flights, respectively.

The semifinals and finals of the doubles flights will be played Monday, as will the finals of the singles flights.
