Soccer America includes senior forward among top players in nation

WILTON, Conn. (August 30, 2013) – Adding to a long list of preseason accolades, ETSU senior forward David Geno has been named a Preseason Men’s All-American by Soccer America.

Geno, the reigning Atlantic Sun Player of the Year, is joined on the list by 24 of the nation’s best players, including players from top-ranked Maryland, Georgetown, and Connecticut. The Kingsport, Tenn., native is one of just nine forwards to be featured on the list.

Earlier this summer, Geno was named one of the nation’s top upperclassmen by TopDrawerSoccer.com, featured on the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List, and tabbed as the A-Sun Preseason Player of the Year. TopDrawerSoccer.com also featured Geno on its MLS SuperDraft Watch List for week one of the college soccer season.

Geno, the Buccaneers’ all-time leader for points, goals, and assists, is one of 16 letterwinners returning for ETSU this season.

The Buccaneers begin regular season play tonight at 7:00 p.m. at South Carolina. Fans interested in following tonight’s action can view live stats or a video telecast of the match.
