JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (May 20, 2013) – The fourth signee of the 2013-14 ETSU women’s soccer class was announced on Monday with Cecilia Re (Milan, Italy) becoming the latest addition to the Lady Buccaneer program.

Re brings a multitude of international experience to ETSU. In her career with Italy’s Women’s National Team, Re has 13 caps for the U-17 squad, 18 caps with the U-19 squad and five caps with the U-20 team. Re’s time with the U-20 team also includes two appearances against Nigeria and South Korea in the 2012 FIFA Under-20 World Cup, hosted by Japan. The Milan native scored her first international goal with the U-19 Italians.

“I am delighted Cecilia will be joining us. She has represented her country for several years, at every age level, including playing in a World Cup,” ETSU head coach Adam Sayers said. “The experience gained from playing at that level, in addition to her time in Serie A, is invaluable. Ceclia is a very talented player, possessing excellent technical ability, and a detailed tactical understanding of the game. Her range of passing is superb, which allows her to heavily influence and control the tempo of games.”

Re currently plays for Fiammamonzaa at the club level in Italy’s Serie A. She joined the club at the age of 14.

Cecilia is the daughter of Valeria and Giampaolo Re. Her major is currently undeclared.
