JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Jan. 24, 2014) - For the first time in 2014, the ETSU women's tennis team will get a chance to defend its home court, playing host to rival Appalachian State Sunday, Jan. 26 at 9:30 a.m.

LAST TIME OUT

The Buccaneers (0-1) opened the season last weekend in Columbia, S.C., suffering a narrow 4-3 setback to SEC opponent South Carolina. Due to injury and illness, ETSU was forced to play the match with just three players.

Despite being shorthanded, the Bucs were able to win three points against the Gamecocks (2-0).

Senior Giulia Andreazza (Balneario Camboriu, Brazil), junior Jessica Brumit (Elizabethton, Tenn.), and sophomore Anna Gerbasi (Caracas, Venezuela) each picked up singles wins in the match.

Brumit and senior Salma Dahbi (Marrakech, Morocco) were each ranked 118th in the most recent ITA Women's Division-I Rankings.
