SKILLMAN, N.J. (Jan. 4, 2014) - Junior Jessica Brumit (Elizabethton, Tenn.) and senior Salma Dahbi (Marrakech, Morocco) will begin spring play as the only Atlantic Sun women's tennis players ranked in the ITA Division-I Women's Singles Rankings.

Brumit and Dahbi, both ranked No. 118 in the nation, will serve pivotal roles for an ETSU team in pursuit of its third Atlantic Sun title in the past six years.

Both players will enter spring play following unbeaten fall campaigns.

Brumit amassed a flawless 6-0 record in the fall, including a singles flight title at the Wake Forest Inviational, while Dahbi, who went 5-0 during fall play, won a share of the B-1 singles flight championship in the Elon Invitational.

"It is a great reward for Salma [Dahbi] and Jessica [Brumit] after a solid fall season," ETSU head coach Travis Sandlant said.

During her first two seasons at ETSU, Brumit has compiled an impressive 29-12 singles record, including an 11-2 record in A-Sun play.

"Jessica [Brumit] is one of the hardest workers on the team," Sandlant said. "She is one of our captains and team leaders, and thoroughly deserves this recognition."

Last season, Dahbi recorded a 17-6 record, losing just one match in league play.

"We set some goals for Salma [Dahbi] at the end of last season to come in fit and ready to play this fall," Sandlant said. "She did that and her results followed."

The Buccaneers, who have advanced to the Atlantic Sun Championship Final each of the past eight seasons, will begin their spring season Jan. 18 when they visit No. 34 South Carolina.
