Thursday, November 07, 2013

ATHENS, Ga., and LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. (Nov. 7, 2013) – The ETSU tennis teams will head south to wrap up their fall campaigns this weekend as the men’s team travels to Athens, Ga., to take part in the UGA Fall Scramble, while the women’s squad heads to Lakewood Ranch, Fla., for the Dick Vitale Intercollegiate Clay Court Classic.

Both tournaments will begin Friday, Nov. 8 and conclude Sunday, Nov. 10.

Last weekend, the men’s team competed in the Winthrop Invitational, with sophomore Sebastian Yllera (Cinco Saltos, Argentina) advancing to the finals of the Division 1 singles flight.

Each member of the men’s team advanced past the first round of the tournament.

Playing in the Dick Vitale Classic will be the first action for the women’s team since Ana Gerbasi (Caracas, Venezuela) and Lyn Yee Choo (Kuching, Malaysia) took part in the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals Oct. 22.
