Leader of Lady Bucs one of 30 coaches selected

NEW YORK (June 6, 2013) – ETSU women’s basketball head coach Brittney Ezell has been selected as one of 30 coaches from across the country to participate in the Center for Coaching Excellence by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), June 10-12, at Columbia University in New York City.

The first-year head coach will take part in session two of the invitation-only elite leadership program following the first session which was held June 3-5. Over 125 college women's basketball coaches have completed the two-and-a-half-day seminar since its inception in 2011, with two sessions taking place each summer.

“The Center for Coaching Excellence is an incredible learning opportunity for all women’s basketball coaches and it is an honor for me attend this year’s session as a representative of East Tennessee State University,” said Ezell. “I am looking forward to my time at Columbia University and I am grateful to the WBCA for the selection.”

Capitalizing on the resources of Columbia University, one of the world’s leading research institutions, and the WBCA, the CCE provides an unparalleled, exclusive learning experience. Utilizing collaborative and interactive learning sessions along with lectures and panel discussions featuring experts in college athletics and women’s basketball, the CCE provides college women’s basketball coaches valuable networking opportunities with their peers and top industry leaders.

Moreover, the CCE was established to safeguard the integrity of college women's basketball and dedicating coaches with the professional skills and personal ethics training necessary to be exceptional leaders in the sport.

Founded in 1981, the WBCA promotes women’s basketball by unifying coaches at all levels to develop a reputable identity for the sport and to foster and promote the development of the game as a sport for women and girls.
