MACON, Ga. (April 10, 2013) – The Atlantic Sun Conference office announced Wednesday that ETSU senior Chloe Garner (Somerset West, South Africa) has earned her first-ever A-Sun Women’s Golfer of the Week award.

Last week, Garner fired a career-best round of 5-under-par 67 in the first round of the Rebel Intercollegiate, and later carded two more solid rounds to finish with a team-best showing of fifth on the leaderboard.

Those individual efforts also helped power her Buccaneer teammates to a fourth-place finish in the 18-team tournament. In fact, the field included tradition-rich and No. 29-ranked LSU, as well as No. 34 Kentucky – and both were teams ETSU finished ahead of in the event. The Bucs also bested Southeastern Conference teams such as Mississippi State, Mississippi and Missouri, as well as Big 10 Conference foe Minnesota.

Garner and her teammates will return to action in the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships April 15 in Jekyll Island, S.C. For more on ETSU women’s golf throughout the spring season, visit ETSUBucs.com and click on the women’s golf link.
