ORANGE PARK, Fla. (March 9, 2013) – Freshman Vivienne Chin (Kota Kinabalu, Sabah Malaysia) and senior Chloe Garner (Somerset West, South Africa) both carded scores of 2-over-par 74 to lead the ETSU women’s golf team during second round action Saturday afternoon in the JMU Eagle Landing Invitational at the Eagle Landing Golf Club.

Those efforts helped ETSU move up two spots to a tie for ninth heading into Sunday’s final round, but the Buccaneers are still off the pace set by No. 36 Campbell in the team competition. Currently, the Camels lead second place Elon by seven strokes, while ETSU is 20 strokes back of the top spot.

Both Chin and teammate Sian Evans (Gillingham, England) are tied for 22nd on the individual leaderboard, while East Carolina’s F. Gustafsson Spang holds a two stroke edge over Campbell’s Tahnia Ravnjak for the top spot. Spang is currently at 5-under 139 (69-70) for the event, while ETSU’s duo is 11 strokes back of the lead.

Other Buccaneer results include a tie for 40th by Garner, while junior Lourdes Lopez (Cadiz, Spain) and sophomore Gabriella Wahl (Heidenheim, Germany) are both tied for 47th.

Third and final round action in the JMU Eagle Landing Invitational is scheduled for Sunday. Fans can watch live scoring and find complete results by visiting and clicking on the women’s golf link.
