JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 21, 2013) – The awards keep rolling in for junior ETSU baseball standout Clinton Freeman (Jonesborough, Tenn.).

On Thursday, CollegeBaseballInsider.com released its Louisville Slugger Player of the Week honors, and Freeman was selected the top player in the Southeast region after last weekend’s impressive showing against Penn State. The Southeast region is made up 89 teams from the Atlantic Coast, Atlantic Sun, Big South, Mid-Eastern, Southeastern, Southern, Southwest, and Sun Belt Conferences.

In the three-game series against the Nittany Lions, Freeman hit .800 (8-for-10) with one double, one triple, three home runs, seven runs and five RBI. His on-base percentage was .846 and slugging percentage was 2.000. The left-hander also made a pair of appearances on the mound, fanning three in 1.1 innings with a save in Sunday’s finale.

Earlier in the week, Freeman was named Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week by CollegeBaseballNews.com and Atlantic Sun Player of the Week.

The Bucs are back in action this weekend when the Blue and Gold host BIG EAST foe Seton Hall in a weekend series, beginning Friday afternoon at 3:05 p.m., from Thomas Stadium. Saturday and Sunday game times are slated for 1:05 p.m.

Single game tickets to ETSU baseball games are $10 for seats behind home plate and $5 for seats along the baselines. Tickets can be purchased at the stadium, online at ETSUBucs.com, or by calling (423) 439-3878.
