Marks her second time this season winning the award

MACON, Ga. (Feb. 20, 2013) – ETSU sophomore Gabriella Wahl (Heidenheim, Germany) was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday afternoon.

Wahl earned the honor by posting an overall fifth-place individual finish, the highest of any Buccaneer, at the Jim West Challenge at the Vaaler Creek Golf Club in Blanco, Texas. The sophomore’s strong performance propelled ETSU to a second-place overall finish at the event, the second straight runner-up finish this spring.

The Heidenheim, Germany native finished just five strokes back of the tournament medalist and posted rounds of 78-76-78=232 to finish at 16-over-par for the event. Wahl continues to lead the Bucs in stroke average this season at 75.2 and this award marks her fifth career A-Sun Women's Golfer of the Week honor after being honored earlier this season on Oct. 3. when she posted another top-five finish at the UNCG Starmount Fall Classic at the Starmount Country Club.
