Softball boasts nine NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes

Bucs top all A-Sun schools on 2011-12 award list
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Dec. 7, 2012) – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association released its 2011-12 All-America Scholar-Athletes on Thursday, with ETSU landing nine on the list to top all Atlantic Sun member institutions.
Among the Buccaneers’ award winners were Jackie Baird (Ooltewah, Tenn.), Amy Campbell (Chattanooga, Tenn.), Marlina Delisa (Tucson, Ariz.), Whitley Hensley (Erwin, Tenn.), Casey Horner (Whitesburg, Tenn.), Sam Lower (Sebring, Fla.), Annie Martin (Centerville, Tenn.), Shelby Morris (Mt. Juliet, Tenn.) and Lily Robins (Collierville, Tenn.). To earn NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete accolades, a player must carry a GPA of 3.50 or higher.
ETSU was one of 140 NCAA Division I participating institutions, joined by Stetson, USC Upstate and Northern Kentucky as the four from the A-Sun. Stetson and USC Upstate earned seven honorees, while NKU wound up with five.
