Lady Bucs make it two consecutive seasons with NSCAA all-region members

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Dec. 4, 2012) – ETSU women’s soccer junior Ramey Kerns (Kings Mountain, N.C.) continued to rack up postseason honors, being named to the NSCAA All-Southeast Region Third Team when the association released its regional teams earlier this week.

Kerns’ all-region selection comes in the aftermath of a record-breaking season, in which she scored a program record 21 goals. The Kings Mountain High School product shattered the previous single-season record of 12 held by Erin Ashton and ended the season as the NCAA leader in goals and goals per game (1.167).

Tallying four assists as well, Kerns registered 46 total points on the 2012 campaign to break Ashton’s previous ETSU record of 30. Kerns’ points total ranked her sixth in the NCAA this season, while her 2.58 points per game led all NCAA Division I student-athletes.

Kerns joins former Lady Buccaneers Genna Petersen and Jenna Caudle as ETSU’s three NSCAA All-Southeast Region members in program history. Petersen and Caudle received the honors at the end of the 2011 season.
