A-Sun Player of the Year and A-Sun Freshman of the Year boast top marks

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Dec. 4, 2012) – The 2012 NCAA women’s soccer season came to a close this past weekend, and ETSU’s Ramey Kerns (Kings
Mountain, N.C.) finished the year as the national leader in goals per game, points per game and total goals.

Kerns scored an ETSU record 21 goals in 18 games this season, averaging 1.167 goals per game. The goals per game mark stands alone as the top national mark, while the 21 goals ties for first with Minnesota’s Taylor Uhl and Ohio State’s Tiffany Cameron. The 2012 Atlantic Sun Player of the Year also added four assists to set the new Lady Buccaneer record in total points with 46, and ended the year at 2.56 points per game to head the country. Her points total was also good enough to finish sixth among all NCAA women’s soccer student-athletes.

A-Sun Freshman of the Year Sarah Zadrazil (St. Gilgen, Austria) also touted top NCAA marks, finishing tied for ninth in assists per game at 0.56, and tied for 20th in total assists with 10. Zadrazil’s 10 assists tied the ETSU record for assists in a season, set by Katie Green in 2007.

The 2012 ETSU women’s soccer team finished with a record of 12-6-0, 6-3-0 A-Sun, tying the program record for most wins for the second year in a row.
