Geno named TSWA award winner

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 5, 2012) – East Tennessee State’s David Geno earned Men’s Soccer Player of the Week accolades by the Tennessee Sportswriters Association on Wednesday after scoring three goals in three matches for the Buccaneers, including the game-winner in double overtime against 17th-ranked UAB. This is the first of weekly awards for the 2012-13 academic year sponsored by the TSWA.
 
The Kingsport and Dobyns-Bennett High School product netted two goals with an assist in a 3-1 victory over North Carolina-Greensboro, moving into second place on the all-time assists list at ETSU behind Aaron Schoenfeld. The junior then posted the game-winning golden goal in the 108th minute in Sunday’s 1-0 triumph versus UAB, upping the club’s mark to 3-1 this season. The Bucs host Radford this Saturday at 7 p.m. ET.
