Tuesday, September 04, 2012
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (Sept. 4, 2012) – The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) released its regional polls on Tuesday, ranking the ETSU men’s soccer team No. 6 in the South Region.
The ranking marks the third consecutive season in which the Buccaneers have appeared in the NSCAA/Continental Tire South Region Poll. ETSU’s highest ranking in program history came in 2011, when it was slotted at No. 3 in the week five poll.
The Buccaneers enter this week’s regional poll after posting a 3-0-0 mark last week with wins over UNC Greensboro, Presbyterian and then-No. 17 UAB. Sunday afternoon’s victory against the Blazers was the Bucs’ first home win against a NSCAA Top 25 opponent in program history.
ETSU also made a mark on the national scene, as the Bucs are receiving votes in the College Soccer News Top 30 rankings.
The Bucs will look to extend their winning streak to four games on Saturday, facing off against Radford inside Summers-Taylor Stadium at 7 p.m.
