MACON, Ga. (Aug. 22, 2012) – ETSU men’s cross country were tabbed fourth in the Atlantic Sun preseason poll by the league coaches, while the women’s picked eighth; but Filip Jalovy (Modrice, Czech Republic) claimed the Fan’s Choice Preseason Runner of the Year honor voted by the fans on Facebook, released by the league office on Wednesday.

The sophomore from Modrice, Czech Republic earned the Freshman of the Year award last fall and also was named first-team all-Atlantic Sun and all-freshen team.

On the men’s side USC Upstate and Kennesaw State split the 10 available first-place votes, but USC Upstate  garnered one more second place vote than KSU to account for the one-point advantage. Lipscomb was tabbed third and followed by ETSU and North Florida to round out the top-five.

On the women’s side Lipscomb took all 10 first-place vote, and was followed North Florida and Jacksonville for the top-three.
