Women’s track named USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

NEW ORLEANS (July 31, 2012) – The ETSU women’s track and field team earned academic distinction from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), being named a 2011-12 Division I All-Academic Track and Field Team.

The Buccaneers were one of 171 women’s programs to earn the academic honors, posting a team GPA of 3.23. ETSU was also one of three Atlantic Sun institutions on the list along with Jacksonville and Lipscomb.

To be named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, a program must carry a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The USTFCCCA also announced its women’s Scholar Teams of the Year, with Arkansas earning Indoor Scholar Team and Stanford taking Outdoor Scholar Team. Scholar Team of the Year honors are awarded to the highest placing teams at the NCAA Championships who carry a minimum team GPA of 3.0.
