Voting moves from Facebook to Twitter
MACON, Ga. (July 27, 2012) – Due to the strong support of fan voting on Facebook, Bucky was able to compile enough votes to propel the Buccaneers into the semifinals of the Atlantic Sun “Most Valuable Mascot Challenge.”
Bucky – who was bracketed with Stetson’s John B., Jacksonville’s Dunk’n the Dolphin, USC Upstate’s Sparty, and Lipscomb’s LU Bison – finished with 632 votes in the Facebook poll to earn a spot into the Final Four. Lipscomb also worked its way out of the quarterfinals with 653 votes, while Northern Kentucky’s Victor E. Viking and North Florida’s Ozzie the Osprey advanced from the other side of the bracket.
Now, the voting will move from Facebook to Twitter, so ETSU fans are encouraged to start following the Bucs @ETSUAthletics and the Atlantic Sun Conference @AtlanticSun to help move Bucky into the finals of this social media competition. The top two schools out with the most retweets from Friday, July 27 through Wednesday Aug. 1 (11:59 p.m. ET) will advance to the championship round. On Friday, the Atlantic Sun office will tweet the message “Retweet if you think Bucky from @ETSUAthletics is the top mascot in the A-Sun #MostValuableMascot,” and Buccaneer fans are encouraged to retweet this message.
