JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (July 23, 2012) – ETSU women’s soccer head coach Adam Sayers announced the final signee of his recruiting class for the 2012 season on Monday, as Hannah Short (Bristol, England) has signed her NLI to play for the Lady Bucs.
A 5-foot-5 defender, Short comes to the reigning Atlantic Sun champion squad from the Downend suburb of Bristol, England. Short has represented England in UEFA European Championship Qualifying at both the U17 and U19 levels, scoring her first international goal in 2010.
“We are very pleased that Hannah will be joining us," Sayers said. "She has gained experience at a very high level in Europe, representing England several times, and enjoying a successful club career. Hannah will be an excellent addition to the team.”
At the club level, Short played for Bristol Academy from 2008-09, Arsenal Ladies from 2009-11 and Barnet Ladies from 2011-12. Last season, Short and the Barnet Ladies defeated Queens Park Rangers 2-1 in the Final of the Middlesex County FA Women’s Senior Cup.
