BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (June 14, 2012) – ETSU track and field freshmen Adam Chase (Kingsport, Tenn.) and K’Vonte Scott (Virginia Beach, Va.) will compete this weekend at the 2012 USA Junior Outdoor Championships, hosted by Indiana University at the Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex.

The championships begin on Friday with 100m section of the men’s decathlon at 2:30 p.m. EDT. The three-day competition concludes on Sunday with the women’s 3000m final at 4:45 p.m. Top performers in each event qualify for the IAAF World Junior Championships.

Scott will be competing in the men’s decathlon. Like Chase, the Virginia Beach, Va. native qualified for the Jr. Outdoor Championships with an elite performance at the A-Sun Outdoors. Winning the long jump, high jump, 400m and 1500m sections of the event, Scott scored a 6,662 total points to earn the gold medal and set a new A-Sun meet record.

The 3000m steeplechase featuring Chase is set for Sunday at 5:30 p.m., while Scott will begin his decathlon with the first five sections on Friday and the remaining five on Saturday.
