This Week in ETSU Athletics: February 27 – March 4

Men’s Basketball

This week: The Bucs (16-13, 10-8 A-Sun) will head to Macon, Ga. for the Atlantic Sun Championship. The No. 4-seeded Bucs will take on No. 5 North Florida, Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in a quarterfinal matchup. The winner will play the winner of the No. 1/No. 8 matchup between Belmont and Jacksonville.

Last week: ETSU closed out the regular season on a three game winning streak. The Bucs earned a road victory at Lipscomb before returning home to pick up wins against Stetson and Florida Gulf Coast.

Coverage: ETSU’s tournament games will be broadcasted live through the Buccaneer Sports Network. Each game of the tournament will also be shown live on ESPN3. 

Women’s Basketball
 
This week: The Lady Bucs (8-21, 7-11 A-Sun) are the No. 8 seed at the upcoming Atlantic Sun Championship. ETSU will take on top-seeded Florida Gulf Coast on Wednesday at 12 p.m.

Last week: ETSU got a big home win against Stetson on Thursday to clinch a spot in the A-Sun Championship. The Lady Bucs closed out the season with a hard fought loss against Florida Gulf Coast.

Coverage: ETSU’s tournament games will be broadcasted live through the Buccaneer Sports Network. Each game of the tournament will also be shown live on ESPN3. 

Baseball

This week: The ETSU (4-2) baseball team continues its long homestand to start the season as the Bucs host Indiana for a three-game series beginning on Friday.

Last week: The Bucs went 3-0 in their weekend series against Saint Joseph’s.

Softball
 
This week: ETSU (3-10) will continue its early season tournament play starting on Thursday at the University of Tennessee. The Bucs will face the Dutch National Team to open the event on Thursday in an exhibition. The Bucs will face Boston University and Murray State on Friday before closing out the tournament against Memphis and Tennessee on Saturday.

Last week: The Bucs went 2-3 at the Frost Classic in Chattanooga, Tenn. ETSU picked up wins against UT-Martin and Niagara, while dropping games against Valparaiso, Troy and Chattanooga.

Track and Field

This week: The ETSU track and field team will head to the Virginia Tech Last Chance Qualifier on Saturday.

Women's Tennis

This week: The ETSU women's tennis team (1-4) hits the road to face UNC Asheville on Thursday before returning home for a pair of matches against Liberty and Western Carolina on Saturday and Sunday.

Last week: The Bucs dropped a pair of road matches against UNC Wilmington and South Carolina State.

Women’s Golf

This week: The ETSU women’s golf team opens the spring season on Monday at the Sir Pizza Cards Challenge in Weston, Fla.
