ETSU athletics to introduce new program mascot Nov. 15

Friday, November 11, 2011

JOHNSON CITY (Nov. 11, 2011) – The ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will introduce a new mascot for the program on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at halftime of the Buccaneers’ men’s basketball game against Appalachian State.

The new mascot will step in for the recently retired “Bucky,” who made his final official appearance at last week’s men’s basketball game against Carson-Newman. He is now reportedly enjoying a vacation in the Hawaii islands.

Fans are encouraged to participate in this special event, which will include a retrospective look at former ETSU mascots, as well as a visit from some of the past’s most beloved Buc supporters.
