Women’s Tennis Heads Fearlessly for Frightful Flighted Halloween Tennis Challenge

Buccaneers send squad to Charleston’s Halloween Challenge

MT. PLEASANT, S.C.  (October 27, 2011) – The ETSU women’s tennis team continues its fall season with a trip to Mt. Pleasant, S.C. to play in the College of Charleston’s Frightful Flighted Halloween Tennis Challenge on Friday, October 28, through Sunday, October 30.

ETSU will join the College of Charleston, the defending Southern Conference regular season champion, Winthrop, the defending Big South regular season champion, and SEC foe Kentucky.

The tournament is slated with eight singles flights and four doubles flights, and will be played in a round robin format. The Bucs begin play on Friday with singles matches against Kentucky starting at 10:30 a.m. and doubles matches against the host school beginning at 1 p.m.

Saturday the Buccaneers are scheduled to take on Winthrop in singles and Kentucky in doubles, before concluding play on Sunday against Charleston in singles and Winthrop in doubles.

The Bucs also recently concluded their free tennis clinic, where they worked with children of all different age groups on improving their tennis abilities. The age groups were split into six and under, ages seven to 10, and ages 11 and up.
