MACON, Ga. (September 21, 2011) – Sophomore Sian Evans (Gillingham, England), the 2011 Atlantic Sun Women's Golf Freshman of the Year, claimed a fifth-place finish at the Wild Eggs Cardinal Cup to kick off the fall season as she earned the A-Sun Women's Golfer of the Week award, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Evans compiled a two-round total of 5-over-par 149 (76-73) to lead ETSU to a sixth place team finish at the Wild Eggs Cardinal Cup. Evans finished just four strokes back of individual medalist Julia Strandberg of East Carolina.

The A-Sun Golfer of the Week award is the first for Evans, the 2011 First-Team All-Atlantic Sun selection.
